Divine Guidance Made Easy

By Shamoon Hussain

All the Muslims unanimously agree that the following are the main sources of Islamic teachings:

The Holy Qur'an- the final and unaltered Divine Guidance/Constitution ordained by Allah (SWT) and the living miracle of Prophet Muhammad (SA).

The authentic Narrations called Ahadith( plural of Hadith) of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.).

The following discourse is based upon the above authentic sources:

1... SURAH FATIHA:

The first chapter of the Holy Quran Sura Fatiha (Sura AlHamd), the meaning of which is the Exordium or the Opening, is the summary of the Quran, its essence and the key for its understanding. In this chapter Allah (SWT) clearly directs us, the human beings to do the following:

               a) Follow the path of those upon whom is Allah has bestowed His special bounties (AnA'mta Alayhim) in order to be guided and remain on the Right Path (Sirat al- Mustaqueem).                     This path leads to heaven and more importantly to be close to Allah and His appointed Divine Guides; especially Prophet Muhammad and his infallible progeny (Muhammad                     Wa Aale Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) also called Ahlul Bayt). In accordance with the verse of Quran Q36:61 the act of being on this path is the Worship (Ibadat) of Allah (SWT).

               b) Do not become astray from Sirat al Mustaqueem(Dhaaleen) by following those on whom is Allah's Wrath (Maqzoob). The enemies of Islam, especially the enemies of                     Prophet Muhammad and his Hoy Progeny, such as, Mawiyyah, his son Yazid and his father Abu Sufiyan and their associates are the prime example of Maqzoob. The extremist                     and terrorist organizations that perform heinous crimes in the name of Islam are the modern day examples of Muqzoob and their supporters and well wishers are the examples of                     Zaaleen.

2... SALAWAT (DAROOD):

The Salawat on Muhammad (P.B.U.H.)  Aale Muhammad (P.B.U.H.)  and on no one else, as an integral part of Namaz (Salat = Connection), is a constant reminder that they in reality are AnA'mta Alayhim . Aale Muhammad (P.B.U.H.)  are comprised of Prophet Muhammad's only daughter Fatima Az-Zahra(AS), her husband Ali the son of Abu Talib (AS), their two sons Imam Hasan, Imam Husayn (also spell as Husain) and the nine Imams one after another from the progeny of Imam Husain(AS). In this regard, Salawat helps in understanding Sura Fatiha more vividly. The great status of Aale Muhammad (P.B.U.H.)  is because they as the part of the Noor-e Muhammadi (P.B.U.H.) (Divine Light of Prophet Muhammad ) (P.B.U.H.)  were also the first creation and the cause of the creation of the universe.

According to Quran per Q:33:33 Ahlul Bayt (AS) they are immaculate and infallible, their unconditional obedience on the par of the obedience of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) was made obligatory per Q4:59 and their love of highest category (Moaddat) was made obligatory per Q:42:23. The Salawat also reminds the Muslims to say Sallallaho wa Aalehi Wa Sallum whenever the name of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.)  is mentioned instead of Sallallaho wa Sallum.

3... HADITH AS-THAQALAYN:

This authentic and unanimously agreed narration called Hadith -e Thaqalyn is his desperate attempt to save the Muslim Ummah from going astray after the deplorable Incident of Qartaas (hadith about Pen & Paper).

According to this Hadith Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.)  stated that the Quran and his Ahlul Bayt (AS) together are the source for Divine Guidance and salvation and that they will never be separated from each other. Thus, following others than Ahlul Bayt is like taking a wrong exit from the Sirat al- Mustaqueem at a bifurcation point and forming sects and sub sects. The following are the references about Hadith Thaqalayn with the word Ahlo Baiti: Sahi Bukhari's Vol 7, p156 under Bab quol al-mareez quno anni kitab al tib, Muslim Vol 5, Page 123, Musnad Ahmed Hambal Vol 3, Page 17, Mustarak Vol 3, Page 109, Kanzul Ma’al Vol 1, Page 167.

4... CONTEMPLATION PER ALLAH (SWT)'s ORDER:

                a) Was Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) the last prophet or last Divine guide? If he was the last Divine Guide, then why there was a need for any Khalifa and Imam? Why Allah                     has ordered us to unconditionally obey Olil Amr on the same par as the obedience of Prophet Muhammad's (P.B.U.H.) obedience? Based upon the Adl (Justice) of Allah is the                     presence of a Divine Guide not necessary to counter the ever present misguidance of Shaytan?

                b) In view of the fact that Allah has ordered us to obey Olil Amr per Qur'anic verse 4:59, is it not necessary that Allah must have identified who they are, in order for us to obey                     Allah's order of obeying them, not their imposters.

If yes, are Olil Amr identified in Quran and/or through Prophet Muhammad's (P.B.U.H.) Ahadith (narrations)?

If no, what religious relevance any one has who is considered the successor of Prophet Muhammad(P.B.U.H.)?

                c) Is there any proof about the authenticity of a & "Hadith" that states that the opinion of the majority of Muslim Ummah (Ijma) will always be correct knowing about the Muslim                     Ummah's allegiance (Bayt) to a confirmed hypocrite (Munafiq) and violator  of Islamic rules openly, such as, Yazid?

                d) Is it appropriate to perform Allah's servitude (Ibadat) without realizing the necessity of Muhammad Wa Aale Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) as the vehicle( Vaseela) and their                     intercession (Shafa'at) knowing that Satan (Shaytan) had believed in Allah (S.W.T)  (refer to Q) and had performed prostration (Sajda) to Him(SWT) for thousands of years                     but undermined the status of Allah's appointed Nabi and Khalifa and the importance of obeying him?

                e) Is it not the act of kissing the Hajre Aswad at Ka'aba a reminder to love those whom Allah (S.W.T.) loves and kiss their graves and Islamic heritage sites which according to                     Quran are the sha'aerullah (physical symbols?
