A R T I C L E - 12
by Okasha Naqvi, 14, New Jersey
you said that I should run
I ended up walking instead
wiping away my sorrow
only left me with its dread.
you said it's not too far
but it took me all my life
the first cut is the deepest,
as if from a kitchen knife.
you said it would be easy
but I am still confused today
how the day to day culture
has ventured on its way
what you say doesn't matter now
my hopes and dreams you dare to shatter
my future is unheard,
for I've always been different
as yellow from the red
when I called to stand-up for justice,
you hung-up, the line is dead.
Do not speculate on
by Nasir Shamsi
Our misfotunes do not
always result from an evil act
nor they are always Allah's wrath
We can't generalize the Scripture too
When Nature takes its toll
do not jump to the idea of sin
when a child dies
why should he pay for
his mother or father's sins ?
From God he came
to God he returneth
that is the Nature
that is the Cause.

to Allah's wrath in an internet discussion group (Ruminations).
Your presence is a gift to the world,
You're unique and one of a kind.
Your life can be what you want it to be -
Take it one day at a time.
Count your blessings, not your troubles,
And you'll make it through what comes along.
Within you are so many answers,
Understand, have courage, be strong.
Don't put limits on yourself,
Your dreams are waiting to be realized.
Don't leave your important decisions to chance -
Reach for your peak, your goal, and your prize.
Nothing wastes more energy than worrying -
The longer a problem is carried, the heavier it gets.
Don't take things too seriously -
Live a life of serenity, not a life of regrets.
Remember that a little love goes a long way -
Remember that a lot goes forever.
Remember that friendship is a wise investment,
Life's treasures are people... together.
Have health and hope and happiness,
Take the time to wish on a star.
And don't ever forget for even a day...
How very special YOU are!
WINNERS VS. LOSERS
Winners have dreams;
Losers have schemes.
Winners see the grains;
Losers see the pain.
Winners see the potential;
Losers see the past.
Winners make it happen;
Losers let it happen.
Winners see possibilities;
Losers see problems.
Winners makes commitments;
Losers makes promises.
Winners are a part of the team;
Losers are apart from the team.
Winner always has a programme;
Loser always has an excuse.
Winner says "Let me do it for you";
Loser says "That is not my job".
Winners say "I must do something";
Losers say "Something must be done".
Winner is always a part of the answer;
Loser is always a part of the problem.
Winner sees an answer for every problem;
Loser sees a problem for every answer.
Winners believe in win/win;
Loser believe for them to win, someone has to lose.
Winner says "It may be difficult but it is possible";
Loser says "It may be possible but it is too difficult".
Winner makes a mistake. he says "I was wrong";
Loser makes a mistake, he says "It wasn't my fault".
