Natural Health Alternative Medicine and Tips
'Methi' (FENUGREEK)

DR AFTAB AHMAD

Description

Fenugreek is a well-known leafy vegetable. It has excellent medicinal virtues. It is Nature's great boon to mankind and its regular -use will help keep the body healthy.

Fenugreek is an erect, strongly scented, robust, annual herb, about 30 to 60 cm. high. It has compound leaves of light green color 2 to 2.5 cm. long, auxiliary yellow flowers, and thin pointed pods, 5 to 7 cm. long. The seeds are brownish yellow and emit peculiar odour.

There are two popular varieties of fenugreek known as Masuri Methi or Champa Methi and Marwari Methi. Both the varieties are scented and are recommended for cultivation.

Origin and Distribution

Fenugreek is considered to be a native of eastern Europe and Ethopia. It is also found growing wild in north‑western India. It has been used since ancient times both as a food and medicine by the people living on the shores of Mediterranean and in Asia. The fenugreek is a cool season crop and it grows all over India.

Food Value

In India, the plants and leaves of fenugreek known as methika‑saag are commonly used as culinary vegetables. Steaming is considered the best methods of cooking leaves as in this process the vitamins are retained and the vegetable is palatable. The dried leaves can be compared to pulses for their protein content. They supplement the lysine-deficient cereal diets. Lysine is amino acid which is fundamental constituents of all proteins. The seeds of fenugreek contain a foetid and bitter fatty oil resin, mucilage and albumin. Their mineral and vitamin contents are very high. In Indian homes, seeds are generally used as a condiment and for flavoring.

Natural Benefits and Curative Properties

The leaves of fenugreek are aromatic, cooling and mild aperient. Paste of the fresh leaves applied over the scalp regularly, before taking bath, lengthens hair, preserves the natural color and keeps the hair silky soft. Paste of the fresh leaves, applied on the face every night before going to bed and washed with warm water, prevents pimples, blackheads, dryness of the face and early appearance of wrinkles. It improves complexion and makes one look years younger. The seeds of fenugreek are demulcent, diuretic, carminative which relieves gastric discomforts, lactagogue, which increases the flow of milk, astringent and aphrodisiac tonic.' They are the best cleansers to body, highly mucus-solvents and soothing agents. The seeds are used in the preparation of hair tonics and cosmetics in Java.

Digestive Disorders

Fenugreek leaves are highly beneficial in the treatment of indigestion, flatulence and sluggish liver. They help in the healing of mouth ulcers. An infusion of the leaves is used as a gargle for recurrent ulcers. Boiled and fried in butter, they are valuable in biliousness. The seeds are also useful in the treatment of colic, flatulence, dysentery, diarrhoea, and dyspepsia.

Anemia

The leaves help in blood formation. The cooked leaves are extremely useful for adolescent girls to prevent anemia and run down condition which is generally associated with the onset of puberty and sudden spurt of growth. The seeds of fenugreek are also valuable in anemia, being rich in iron.

Pregnancy and Lactation

The seeds are fried in ghee and finely powdered. This powder is mixed with wheat flour and sugar to prepare a halwa. This preparation, taken in small quantity daily, helps in quick normalization after delivery. The seeds, made into a gruel, are given as diet to nursing mothers for increasing the flow of milk.

Deadened Sense of Taste and Smell

The seeds help restore a deadened sense of taste or smell. The loss of sense of taste occurs due to improper functioning of the salivary glands. They often become plugged with mucus and accumulated juices, causing swelling. Similarly, the sense of smell is obstructed due to long accumulations of mucus or other impurities in the nose where the olfactory nerves are based. Regular use of fenugreek has proved beneficial in both these cases.

Dandruff

Fenugreek seeds are useful in the removal of dandruff. Two tablespoonfuls of the seeds should be soaked overnight in water. In the morning the softened seeds should be ground into a fine paste. This paste should be applied all over the scalp and left on the head for half an hour. The hair should then be washed thoroughly with soapnut solution or shikakai. Paste of the fresh leaves of fenugreek applied over the scalp regularly before taking bath also cures dandruff.

Fevers

A tea made from fenugreek seeds is equal in value to quinine for reducing fevers. It is particularly valuable as a cleansing and soothing drink. The fenugreek seeds, when moistened with water are themselves slightly mucilageous. A tea made from them has the power to dissolve more sticky substance as body mucus.

Stomach Disorders

The fenugreek tea soothes inflamed stomach and intestines and cleanses the stomach, bowels, kidneys and respiratory tract of excess mucus. It is beneficial in the healing of peptic ulcers as the mild coating of gum like lubricant material deposited by fenugreek, as it passes through the stomach and intestines, provides a protective shell for the ulcers.

Respiratory Infections

During the early acute stages of any of the respiratory tract infections, such as bronchitis, influenza, sinusities, catarrah and suspected pneumonia, fenugreek tea will help the body to produce perspiration, dispel toxicity and shorten the period of fever. It should be taken upto four cups daily. The quantity is reduced as condition improves. To improve flavor, a few drops of lemon juice can be used. During such treatment, no form of food or nourishment should be taken as is followed during fasting and fenugreek will allow the body to correct these respiratory problems in a few days.

Sore Throat

The gargle made from fenugreek seeds is the best for ordinary sore throat. When preparing a gargle, the solution should be much stronger than a tea. Two tablespoonfuls of fenugreek seeds should be put into a quart of cold water and allowed to simmer for half an hour over a low flame. It should be allowed to cool to a bearable temperature. It should then be strained and entire quantity used as a gargle.

Bad breath and Body Odour

The tea made from fenugreek is also beneficial in the case of bad breath and body odour. The unpleasant odors emanate from body openings due to accumulations of hardened mucus and other toxic substances in the nasal and oral passages, the gastrointestinal tract, the urinary tract, the bloodstream and vagina. The fenugreek tea, taken regularly will help remove these accumulation from such spots where mouth wash and soap can never penetrate.

Diabetes

Fenugreek seeds have been found highly effective in the treatment of diabetes. According to a recent report brought out by the Indian Council of Medical Research, as quoted by Press Trust of India on January 6, 1988, fenugreek seeds, when given in varying doses of 25 grams to 100 grams daily, diminish reactive hyperglycaemia in diabetic patients. Levels of glucose, serum cholesterol and  tryglycerides were also significantly reduced in the diabetes patients when the seeds were consumed, the report said Quoting researchers at the National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad, the report said that the effect of taking fenugreek seeds could be quite dramatic, when consumed with 1200-1400 calories diet per day, which is usually recommended for diabetic patients.

Swellings

Due to their cooling properties, a poultice of the leaves can be applied with advantage in external and internal swellings and burns.

A NATURAL WAY  OF INCREASING HEIGHT

1. Stand in open space in attention position. Inhale deeply through the nose and extend your arms lifting them slowly up to your shoulders. Keep your arms straight. Hold that position sometime and then take the arms backwards as far they will go. Now inhale again and release your breath slowly, resuming the former position.

2. Stand with your arms straight at right angles to your body. Lift the arms vertically and then bring  them to the level of the shoulders. Do not exhale in the process, but stand on your toes, lifting your heels as far as they will go. Exhale slowly after some moments and resume the earlier position.

3. Extend your  arms forward up to the level of shoulders. Inhale and fill your lungsto about one third of your capacity. wait for few moment sand then take your arms above the head. Now move them in circular motion---taking thembehindyour back and in the former position again. exhale slowly.

ALLERGY

----------------

We may consider allergies very mild and not that harmful but people have lost their lives in this process. We cannot take this disease very lightly and it has to be nicked in the butt at the nick of time. The allergies are a kind of reaction which is caused by some foreign matter known as allergens. This can be avoided by staying away from the things which causes such reaction.

It is a very common term which is used in our day-to-day life and allergies are basically caused by an adverse reaction to some substance. It can also be referred to as immediate hypersensitivities which occur very quickly when it is exposed to the allergen. There can be allergic reaction to things such as food particles, pollens, dust and sometimes microorganisms. The mind reacts to the substance in context that the substance is deadly and can harm the body. It is the defense mechanism of the body when a foreign body gets into the immune system.

Allergies can be developed at any age. An infant can also be allergic and sometimes these allergic reactions can be many times genetic. If the parents are not allergic then the chances of your child being allergic is 15%. But if one of the parents has it then there are 30% chances and if both the parents have it then it reaches to 60%. The immune system is misguided when the foreign body comes in contact with your body. It sends signals to the brain which reacts by causing inflammation to your skin.

Some of the very common reaction one gets from allergy is some severe skin rash or inflammation. The other conditions which you face are the hay fever, asthma, allergic conjunctivitis and sometimes an allergic shock which can happen very fast. When you describe hay fever it would basically lead to sneezing, nasal congestion and severe irritation of eyes which gets severe with the passing hours. You also have a runny and stuffy nose, sneezing and nasal itching. There are very unusual and much unknown factors which cause allergies. Tiredness, fatigue and lethargy can also be termed as part of allergies. Such an allergy can be seen due to dust mites, sleep disturbance and the usual known ones.

The different types of allergies are:

Food Allergies: Where the person is affected by a certain food and such mistake can lead to some bad inflammations on your skin as well as death. So precautions have to be taken accordingly.

Dust Mite Allergies: When affected everyone may have a different reaction and this may lead to the unclean room and being in the vicinity of the dirty laundry.

Children Allergies: These allergies can be taken under consideration due to the genetic factor. If the father or mother may carry that allergy and which is passed on to their baby.

Pollen Allergies: Caused by some specific pollen or any kind of pollen. This is very can be analyzed according to the reaction of the person. Avoiding such places where there is pollen or accepting any thing which may trigger the reaction.

There are many more Allergies which can be mentioned but these of the few common ones which are very general and known to everyone.

Some of the precautionary measures to be taken is to know your allergy and to fight it. Once you know what kind of allergy troubles you then you can avoid all those things which trigger that reaction. As mentioned earlier there are many things which can create allergic reaction and many a times such things can be taken.(

Common Drugs With Dangerous Side Effects and Their Natural Alternatives
16 Top-Selling Prescription Drugs

If you are taking any of these drugs, you should know about their dangerous side effects and their natural alternatives.

  1. Lanoxin (digoxin) for heart failure and arrhythmia
  2. Norvasc (amlodipine) for angina

In the typical American household, it’s becoming more and more commonplace to open the medicine cabinet and see the shelves filled with dozens of different colored pill bottles—most of them prescription drugs. New ones are added each year to help with the ailments that seem to come with aging: high blood pressure, high cholesterol, arthritis, blood sugar imbalances, depression, insomnia, digestive problems, osteoporosis, and allergies. Of course most people trust their doctor’s advice and feel confident that the Federal Drug Administration (FDA), the government’s own consumer watchdog agency, is protecting them by testing these drugs carefully before giving approval for their use by the public.

Don’t Be Fooled

Many FDA-approved drugs are ineffective, unnecessary, and unsafe. They come with a slew of uncomfortable and dangerous side effects, including digestive upsets and headaches, liver and kidney impairment, and dependency. In some cases, they actually cause the very symptoms they are supposed to cure. Once you’re on one drug, you need others drugs to fix the side effects of the first one, putting you on what I call the prescription drug treadmill, draining your pockets and severely compromising your quality of life. You may need help as you age, but not that kind of help.

In case you’re not convinced, these statistics tell it all:

§         A University of Arizona study estimates that 28 percent of hospitalizations are due to prescription drug-related problems.

§         An FDA report recently showed that 938,000 injuries are caused each year by mistakes made prescribing and dispensing these drugs.

§         An article in the Journal of American Medical Association reports that in hospitals alone, prescription drugs kill 140,000 people every year.

§         Prescription drugs are the fourth-leading cause in death in the U.S. today.

Contrary to popular belief, the FDA does not have your health as its only priority when it works closely with the pharmaceutical industry. The government agency commonly staffs its advisory boards with research scientists and consultants who have drug company ties to the very drugs under investigation. Operating with budgets in the billions of dollars, the drug companies now pitch their medications directly to the public, spending big bucks on advertising so you will ask your doctor for a drug you saw in a glossy magazine. It’s possible that your doctor has already received a visit from a pharmaceutical agent and been persuaded to sign up for a contest to win a free vacation in the Caribbean—if only he’ll prescribe whatever drug that agent is currently pushing, whether you need it or not.

The loser in all of this is you—the person who suffers from the sometimes fatal side effects of the drugs, or watches loved ones suffer, and continues to foot the bill for skyrocketing health insurance premiums and taxes to support the huge bureaucracy that dominates modern medicine today.

How have we become so caught up what appears to be a dangerous and corrupt approach to health care in America today? I attribute this trend to what I call the “pill-popping mindset,” a belief that if we can just find the right “magic bullet” to target a disease, we can fix the problem. The underlying condition—what caused the symptoms in the first place—is rarely looked at by either your doctor or the researchers bent on a cure. In fact, the real cause may well be masked when symptoms are reduced or eliminated by a prescription drug.

I don’t mean to imply that prescription drugs are completely useless. Antibiotics save lives, and we’re all grateful for strong pain medications for surgery or for times when we are healing from wounds, chronic back pain, or debilitating headaches. But the problem arises when we expect all drugs to provide us with a magical, quick answer to complex problems that need our closer attention.

The first step away from the pill-popping mindset is to start thinking in terms of lifestyle choices, such as eating a balanced, whole foods diet and getting regular exercise. You may be surprised to know that there are many natural alternatives to prescription drugs, including diet, herbs, nutritional supplements, and natural hormones, that have been proven through medical testing to be at least as effective as the drugs your doctor gives you, without the harmful side effects. Some of these alternatives are preventative, while others target specific illnesses and their causes.

I have been a Registered Pharmacist for over 30 years, yet I am a fierce advocate for finding natural alternatives to prescription and over-the-counter drugs, which is why I wrote this report.  You can kick the habit of prescription drugs with the help of my suggestions in this report.  Start enjoying a better quality of life and stop spending your money to support an industry that does not have your health at heart. Who knows—with the money you save, you may be taking that Caribbean vacation yourself!

Heart Drugs and Their Natural Alternatives

Heart disease claims more lives than any other disease in America. Of the estimated 12 million people who have coronary artery disease, 1.1 million have heart attacks each year and about 500,000 of them die, including the 250,000 who die of a heart attack before they can get to a hospital. Just to give you some perspective, the number of heart disease-related deaths in the U.S. annually is the equivalent of six jumbo jets crashing every day.

It’s true that death rates from heart disease have declined steadily since the 1960s, thanks to advances made in surgical by-pass procedures. But since then, the cost of heart disease has risen just as steadily. According to a 1999 study from the National Center for Health Statistics, $127 billion was spent on treating heart disease and related circulatory diseases in 1995.

If you are at risk because of a family history of heart disease, a recent coronary event, or high blood pressure and high cholesterol readings, you may want to explore some less costly and safer approaches to treating heart disease than are available through prescription drugs. But first, what is heart disease and how does it lead to a fatal heart attack?

Your heart is a powerful muscle, working at a steady, rhythmic pace every second of every day of every year. The fuel for all of this activity is delivered by the blood flowing through the coronary arteries, the vessels that surround the heart, to supply the nutrients and oxygen your heart needs to carry on. If the flow is stopped, the heart muscle starves, its powerful rhythmic motion is disrupted, and you suffer from a stroke or possibly a fatal heart attack.

Several factors stop the flow of blood to the heart. Arteries get old and less elastic with age, and waxy plaque is deposited on artery walls, narrowing the passageway for blood to flow through. Over time, this process may lead to chest pain, high blood pressure, and congestive heart failure, a condition in which the heart cannot pump enough blood to meet the needs of body tissues. Then it may be only a matter of time before dangerous blood clots close off an artery completely, causing a stroke or heart attack.

Most people think that high cholesterol and high blood pressure cause heart disease, and that if we had a magic bullet to eliminate them, the problem would be solved. But the truth is high cholesterol and high blood pressure are more likely indicators that heart disease exists, not underlying causes. The only way to cure heart disease is to address those factors that put you at risk, making your arteries vulnerable to blocked blood flow in the first place.

One of these risk factors is high levels of homocysteine, a by-product of protein metabolism in the body. Homocysteine damages blood vessels and so encourages the buildup of “bad” cholesterol as plaques. High levels can be a stronger indicator of heart disease than either cholesterol or blood pressure. According to one study, if your homocysteine levels are just 20 percent above normal, your risk of heart disease is significantly increased. Fortunately for everyone, homocysteine levels can be easily and inexpensively managed by increasing your intake of B-complex vitamins, found in whole grains such as whole wheat, rye, and millet, and leafy greens such as bok choy, spinach, kale, and green chard. I also recommend that as an ongoing preventive measure, you take a daily multivitamin that contains 400 mcg of folic acid, 50 mg of vitamin B6, and 100 mcg of B12.

Another risk factor has to do with a process called oxidation, a normal and important part of your body’s metabolism. Oxidation can cause damage when it results in the over production of free radicals, unbalanced molecules that increase when you are exposed to pollutants such as smog, cigarette smoke, pesticides, and food additives. In their attempt to become balanced, free radicals scavenge your tissues and organs, ripping into cell walls and weakening the walls of your arteries to encourage the build up of LDL (bad) cholesterol and set the stage for clotting, stroke and heart attacks.

You can control free-radical damage by eating foods containing antioxidants, substances that prevent excessive oxidation. Fresh fruits and vegetables, and whole grains are rich sources of antioxidants such as beta-carotene, vitamin C, and E. In addition, studies have shown that vitamin E dissolves blood clots, helps lower blood pressure, may inhibit atherosclerosis when combined with selenium, and is important for the health of the entire cardiovascular system. This was shown to be true in a study of over 87,000 female nurses who took 100 IU or more of vitamin E daily over a two-year period and reduced their risk of heart disease by 41 percent.

Lack of sufficient magnesium in your diet will increase your risk of heart disease. A fresh, whole food diet will help you increase your levels of this mineral, which is essential for prevention and treatment of any heart disorder. It’s well-known that when people arrive at the emergency room with a heart attack, and they are given intravenous magnesium right away, they have a better chance of survival. Supplemental magnesium can prevent muscle spasms that contribute to angina pain, keep heartbeat regular, keep blood flowing smoothly, keep cholesterol under control, and maintain normal blood pressure. Get magnesium from whole grains, legumes, bran, almonds and peanuts, and broccoli, as well as chocolate, or take a daily supplement in doses of 300 to 500 mg.

Other basic guidelines to follow for heart health are to keep your intake of alcohol moderate, and get regular exercise. Eat plenty of fresh garlic or take garlic supplements to reduce fibrinogen, a protein in the blood that causes clotting. Avoid exposure to pesticides, solvents, glues, dyes, paints, and PCBs, which create free-radical damage to your tissues when they accumulate in the body, and drink eight to ten glasses of pure, filtered water daily to flush toxic substances from your blood and organs.

You’re unlikely to hear about many of these heart-healthy measures from your doctor. Instead, you are likely to be given costly, dangerous drugs that treat your symptoms but don’t prolong your life. Before I tell you how you can prevent—or reverse—heart disease with natural, alternative methods, let’s look at what the multi-million dollar drug industry is offering as its “cure” for these conditions.

Drugs For Arrhythmia, Angina, And Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)

Arrhythmia (irregular heart beat), angina (chest pain) and congestive heart failure are all signs of a weakened heart that can’t pump enough blood to supply the body’s tissues adequately. One of the leading drugs used to treat arrhythmia and CHF is Lanoxin, the brand name for the generic drug digoxin. Lanoxin belongs to a class of drugs derived from the plant Digitalis pupurea and Digitalis lanata, otherwise known as floxglove, and has a strengthening effect on the heart muscle, enabling it to pump more blood.

Commonly prescribed for irregular heartbeat, digitalis drugs can also cause it. Other negative side effects include nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhea, and stomach pain—all effects that are the result of too high a dosage. Since dosage levels are easily increased by interactions with other drugs and certain foods, it’s important to tell your doctor what medications you are taking, and watch dietary intake of fat, which tends to elevate this drug’s effect.

Angina pain is often treated by nitrate drugs, such as amyl nitrate, taken when you have an attack of chest pain rather than for prevention. Sometimes called “nitroglycerine,” these drugs quickly reduce or relieve spasms in the heart muscle, thereby opening up blood vessels and reducing blood pressure to save you from a heart attack. There are no specific natural alternatives to replace the nitrates, but you can wean yourself from needing to use them as you take other measures to reduce your angina. Common side effects of these drugs are fainting upon standing, rebound angina and hypertension, and severe headaches.

Natural Alternatives To Drugs For Arrhythmia, Angina, And CHF

You can eliminate or reduce angina pain, arrhythmia, and CHF with the following natural supplements and herbs that relax and strengthen your heart muscle.

Co-enzyme Q10 (CoQ10)

A vital enzyme in your body, CoQ10 catalyzes the production of energy in cells. When taken as a supplement, it has been proven to protect and strengthen the heart, and to lower blood pressure. One study showed that heart patients consistently demonstrated low blood levels of CoQ10, improving when they received only 30 mg per day of CoQ10. In another double-blind test, CoQ10 was found to be more effective in reducing or eliminating angina pain than prescription drug medications. You can take CoQ10 in gel capsule form, which is much stronger than the powder, at 30 to 60 mg up to three times a day with meals. If you are taking medication for angina, you may want to consult with your doctor to reduce your dosage when you start on a regimen of CoQ10.

L-arginine

If you are taking nitroglycerine for angina attacks, you will want to know about the powerful affects of L-arginine, an amino acid plentiful in foods such as meat, poultry, dairy products, and wheat germ, that works to open blood vessels and reduce the potential for spasms. It may not act as quickly as nitroglycerine does, but when you supplement with arginine, the physiological process that dilates vessels is the same. Nitroglycerine drugs are dramatic, causing dizziness as blood pressure plummets, but arginine has a slower effect. Arginine also lowers bad LDL cholesterol levels, inhibits the absorption of fats in the diet, and has antioxidant effects. I recommend using L-arginine as a supplement to prevent angina.

Arginine is generally safe when taken in doses of 1500 mg twice daily with or without food. If you are taking migraine drugs, nitroglycerine or impotence drugs, be sure to consult your doctor before adding arginine to your regimen.

Hawthorn Berry (Crataegus Oxyacantha)

This herb is a traditional heart tonic, currently used widely in Europe for angina relief and to lower blood pressure. Hawthorn berry is rich in bioflavonoid, which strengthen blood vessels and act as a vasodilator to increase the flow of blood and oxygen to the heart. It comes in capsule or tincture forms, or in combination with other supplements. If you’re already on heart medication, consult your doctor, as hawthorn berry, while non-toxic and safe, can be very effective and reduce your need for drugs

BIOCHEMIC TREATMENT OF ANEMIA

ANAEMIA

Is a blood disease and several types are described. The most common are iron deficiency anaemias and pernicious anaemias. Some anaemias result from destruction of too many red blood cells or the loss of blood through direct or indirect bleeding. However, the more common forms of anaemias are caused by failure of the blood forming system located in the bone marrow. This failure may be due to the shortage of iron or other essentials in the diet.

The skin and mucous membranes become pale. Loss of appetite, low energy easy fatigue, shortness of breath, palpitation of the heart etc. are the symptoms of anaemia.

In pernicious anaemia, the nerves in the spinal cord may be affected and the gradual onset of the disease, may be marked by numbness, tingling and needles and pins sensation in the extremities. The tongue may be sore and smooth.

Pernicious anaemia is a nutritional deficiency disease. It is not due ' to shortage of iron but is due to deficiency of hydrochloric acid. This hydrochloric acid fails to secrete a certain intrinsic factor – a chemical substa-Tice - needed to produce mature red blood cells. This missing substance can be supplied by liver and so the injections of Liver Extract are given In such cases. Folic acid and Vitamin B12 are normally found in liver and hence they are prescribed.

Iron deficiency anaemias occur because the relatively small amount of iron needed for the creation of haemoglobin is missing. Haemoglobin is essential in the transport of oxygen from the lungs to other body cells. Some persons become anaemic because their system cannot absorb the iron they take in. Mostly, however the failure lies in the diet. Green vegetables, nuts, egg-yolk, meat etc. are the substances containing iron.

Blochemic treatment

Cal. Phos: Is highly recommended in anaemia after exhaustive diseases. It supplies new blood cells. The face may be pale or greenish white. It cures anaemia where nutrition is defective. Cal. Phos is also useful when there is excess of white corpuscles in the blood (Leukemia). It is also given in pernicious anaemia as this -salt directly helps digestion.

Ferr. Phos: Follows Cal. Phos. if there still appears a deficiency of red blood corpuscles, Anaemia with fever calls for the use of Ferr. Phos.

Nat. Mur: Is indicated when the blood is thin and watery resulting in non-coagulation. It cures chlorosis in young girls at puberty when menses do not appear or are irregular. There is fluent coryza, constipation, headache and sadness.

Kali Phos: Is useful in anaemias when the nervous system is chiefly affected. It cures cerebral and spinal anaemias. The mind is depressed and the patient is neurasthenic.

Nat. Phos: Is prescribed when there are acid risings or indigestion. Anaemia due to worms: needs this remedy. It should be alternated with Cal. Phos for the proper assimilation of the food.

Silica: Is useful when the anaemia results from some pyogenic infection. When the infants are improperly nourished, Silica should be thought over.

Potency: Cal. Phos and Nat. Phos in 6x. Nat. Mur and Silica in 30x. Ferr. Phos in 3x Kali Phos in 3x and then in 12x.

Suggestions: The type of anaemia should be confirmed with the help of blood examination. The treatment of biochemic salt should be continued for a couple of month, as the character of the disease itself is quite gradual in onset and prolonged in effect.

MAGNETIC THERAPY – TECHNIQUES OF APPLICATION

General:

Human body is endowed with natural healing powers. As Hippocrates, the Father of Modern Medicine once said: “Nature cures; not the physician”. All the systems of alternate medicine aim at holistic healing. They try to create conducive conditions for the natural healing process of the body to speed up. Magnetic therapy is no exception to this principle. The therapeutic effects of magnets work through: (1) Nervous system (2) Respiratory system (3) Digestive system (4) Urinary system, and, most importantly through (5) Blood circulatory system.

Extensive studies have revealed that water from North Pole magnets has the benevolent effect of controlling bacterial infections, including neutralizing, or, in some cases killing cancer cells. Also found to be effective in tumors, skin rashes, sores, boils etc. North Pole, in effect, has a retarding action. The South Pole oozes energy, imparts strength and warmth to the affected parts, reduces swelling, stops pains and in general increases power of resistance of the patient.

Conceptual Framework:

The metabolism of every living cell of not only human beings but also all other life forms is linked essentially to electro-magnetic energy. Biological self-healing powers are buttressed, if energy is significantly made available to it. An organism full of energy is anathema to bacterial and virus infections as its power of resistance peaks. It only spells rosy health and extreme fitness. The basic concept of magnetic therapy is nothing more than this.

Application:

Some doctors prefer only North Pole, whereas others prefer South Pole for treatment. Dr Albert Roy Davis, U.S.A; is an ardent supporter of single pole use in treatment. His book “The Anatomy of Bio-magnetism” states:

North Pole (N.P)

1. Arthritis - calcium of joints is slowly dissolved by North Pole.

2.Bleeding or haemorrhage - After birth or due to female weak organs

3.Bleeding of wounds, cuts, bruises due to weak tissues.

4.Boils and Cancers

5.Broken bones, broken joints, fractures - South Pole on the upper and North Pole on the lower portion ensures best healing.

6.Burns - North Pole on the burnt portion - When the pain is less, South Pole to give strength to the tissue and to form flesh over the burnt part

7.H.B.Pressure - N.P. under the right ear down the artery.

8.Infection, pus, discharge due to any infection - (N.P. arrests it and nature heals).

9.Kidney infection or stone (even partially lost kidneys may start functioninTeeth and gums - Decaying teeth, infection of gums, swellings, and pus depositsg in some cases).

10.Sprains in ankles, back, hips, legs and feet, etc

11.Toothache with bad smell, bleeding & wounds

South Pole (S.P)

1.All kinds of pains, stiffness and weakness in fore limbs, arms, legs. Shoulders, hips, etc.-S.P. encourages & provides strength and life to the limbs.

2.Encourage life in all its forms but makes infection worse.

3.Digestion poor, as formation-Due to more acidity in stomach.

4.Production of insulin less.

5.Prostate enlargement (Fluid discharge is increased. M. W. every 2hours or earlier is a must).

6.Hair coloring-S.P. improves hair coloring in limited cases of those persons only whose health is good. South Pole for ½ hour on the seat of the person after he/she has gone to bed gives good results.
